Seldom are the opportunities that present themselves readily apparent. The majority of opportunities appear to be invisible but some are as subtle as a ten-dollar bill left in the middle of a sidewalk. Many people constantly emphasize the importance of spotting the right opportunity and having the courage to seize it when it presents itself. But how is it possible to locate something that is not even visible? This is where I believe you are approaching this completely incorrectly.
The majority of you appear to believe that opportunities are arranged in our lives by cunning little fairies who determine when its time for us to land our big break or find the perfect job. . Chances are thought to be either prophesied or fated by a higher power. However this isnt the case in practice. The logic behind opportunities is straightforward.
Opportunities are not found they are created. Consider your current way of living. I have the impression that the majority of you would say yes and in certain situations I would concur. Was it luck that brought you a job? Was it luck that put food in your stomach or the shirt on your back?
Perhaps you consider yourself fortunate to lead the life you do. You might have been among the millions of people who lost their jobs and ended up in the unemployment fund. In actuality though you simply sent your resume to hundreds of employers. It was simple for you to purchase food because you had a job and were paid. Although some people consider this to be luck I am aware that not everyone feels the same way.
We dont come across jobs. We understand how to work and land a job. We understand how to survive. But we dont want to just work and get by. We want to live fulfilling lives doing the things we love.
We feel regrettably that the opportunities that have been presented to us prevent us from living this way. You have the option and the chance. Fortunately this is not the end. You can change the chances youve given yourself in the past by creating new ones now. But before you can do that you have to firmly believe that luck isnt the only factor in life.
It has to do with the decisions and actions we take. Making Your Own Opportunities: Three Steps. 1. Dont stop. It is not difficult to create an opportunity.
However the majority of people struggle with their reluctance to act in order to generate these opportunities. Youll almost certainly never take action if you second-guess yourself and choose not to. Nobody will just give you what you want and hold your hand. Even if someone is willing to encourage you keep in mind that his support is only as strong as your willingness to take initiative. Step to take: You must take initiative and be prepared to change on your own for yourself.
2. Act without thinking. You can probably count on both hands and feet to tell you how many times you have considered doing something you truly truly wanted to do. This methods drawback is that you dont put any effort into actually doing anything instead you spend all of your time considering every possible outcome. It comes from someone who used to overthink every situation before taking a chance.
Step to take: Dispel the myth that you have to plan before you act at least when it comes to accomplishing major objectives. Doing rather than thinking. 3. Give up attempting to foresee a future filled with fear. I assume youre still not convinced by the whole taking thoughtless action argument.
Why are you so doubtful? Is it necessary for you to have doubts about what hasnt happened yet because its more realistic to think negatively? No. Dont think about that. Take a few careless steps and quit attempting to forecast the future much less a bad one.
Even when bad things happen in real life theres usually a lesson to be learned from them. Explore deeply and seek it out. If you have the courage to make it so your future can be bright. Step to take: Let go of the notion that the future must be bad and concentrate on the here and now. Upon mastering these steps you will undoubtedly be able to create opportunities.
You are to blame for everything that has occurred thus far. No matter how good or bad things are you created the situation. It is true that there are some things from which we cannot escape keep in mind that this is life. However this does not imply that everything is inevitable or that everything occurs by accident. Go ahead and create what you want to happen.
You are the only one who can get back up when life gets you down.
You are in total control of the direction you want your life to take when you believe that there is always opportunity.
