I asked myself why I was working on my e-book the other night (details will be shared soon). Why endure all this trouble for a single e-book when I could spend my vacation lounging in the sun or earning money the old-fashioned way? For a moment lets consider this idea. Its summer. There are some positions for which I could have applied and been hired with ease.
There are many people I know who could suggest me for excellent jobs. So why am I working so hard on this e-book that I havent received any payment yet rather than selling out and finding a job like most college students my age do? I will not receive any kind of medal. Perhaps a few thousand people will be able to witness the fruits of my labor. Fewer people will choose to buy it even less.
Its funny because I ask myself this question when Im working on a challenging project. Then like a bolt of neural lightning the answer came to me. since I took pleasure in doing so. However I suddenly found myself in another dilemma. I was aware that I liked it.
What made it so hard though? I thought it should be easy to do what you love. Then in my semi-enlightened state I came up with another response. Hard work is essential for anything to succeed. It is hard work that distinguishes the indispensable from the expendable the winners from the losers.

Whether you work as a well-known actor on Broadway or are seated at a desk in another of those gray cubicles.
Doing what you love or what you detest is up to you. It all requires effort. Passion is a prerequisite for hard work. Hard work is not an option when you have a strong purpose in life. It is essential.
Steve Pavlina. You cant sit around waiting for someone else to take the initiative when youre passionate about something (perhaps you want to start a movement and bring about change). You wont allow yourself to do that actually. You already understand almost instinctively that action supported by intention causes things to occur. As Steve states achieving your goals requires hard work.
There are no short cuts. Hard work cannot be replaced. . Thomas Edison. In life there are no lottery tickets that will significantly improve your chances of success.
There is a reason why hard work has persisted over the years. Its the only tried-and-true method for achieving success in your passion. The only way to be successful at hard work is to put in less effort which ultimately increases your chances of failure. Having a weak work ethic does not lead to greatness. You simply arent suited for top positions unless youre prepared to immerse yourself in your work to an extent that takes more effort than the typical man can.
” J. C. Penney. Okay so we understand that hard work is important and required but how much of it should we put in? The answer is as much as it takes to reach our desired goals.
Hard work can be done by anyone for a few hours. Consider how many people have part-time jobs. For a few months however less can be committed. Especially if they continue to work hard for years. Because of this there arent many at the top.
Neither because they exploited the more devoted or took short cuts. However they realized that the rule of hard work is supreme. The reality of pursuing your passions. In actuality doing what you love necessitates working far harder and longer hours for no pay at all (at least initially) than your coworkers who have jobs. You are not receiving your desired paycheck at the conclusion of each biweekly period.
But the fact that you are doing what brings you joy and that others can enjoy is far more important than the time spent the money lost and the sweat shed. The quest for happiness—isnt that what life is all about? I can already hear the critics telling me that the American Dream has long since vanished and that this quest is fictitious.
I beg to differ.
